Existing walls mapped

We record masonry lengths, corners and levels before sizing each section.

Steps assessed together

Handrail position can be planned alongside gates and boundary railings.

Townhouse work documented

A completed local project shows railings fitted around a real frontage.

Fit metalwork around an existing frontage

Townhouse walls, short paths and entrance steps leave little room for rough measurements. As a gate maker serving Hyde, we record the actual wall runs, gate openings and level changes before planning the metalwork. Our portfolio includes a completed townhouse railing project in the area, showing how fixed sections can follow an established frontage. Side gates and handrails can be assessed during the same visit where the path, steps and available fixing areas need to work together.

Show us the walls and steps beforehand

Clear photographs help us see whether your Hyde property has raised masonry, a narrow gate opening or steps that need a handrail. Add approximate dimensions and a note about regular access so the first discussion stays useful. We confirm everything during the survey, including hinge direction, grip position and wall condition. After workshop manufacture and powder coating, we return to fit the sections and check alignment or movement.

Frequently asked questions

Can railings be fitted around an older front wall?

We first inspect the wall width, copings, corners and masonry condition. Sections are then measured for the existing run rather than supplied at standard lengths. The available sound fixing areas influence the final layout.

Can you measure a side gate and handrail together?

Yes. We can assess the gate opening, path width, steps and supporting surfaces during one visit. This helps keep the access route usable and lets us plan how each item fits around walls and level changes.

Which photographs are useful before the visit?

Wide photographs showing the complete frontage are most helpful, followed by closer views of walls, steps and openings. Include approximate dimensions if possible. We use these for preparation, then take final measurements ourselves.
